Organ Transplants for Smokers

Today in one of my tutes we were discussing organ donation. There are never enough organs to give to everyone who needs them, so doctors often have to choose who to give them to. One of the issues that we were dealing with is whether smokers should be given organs when there are other people who have developed conditions through no fault of their own. There is a medical reason for not giving smokers organs, as they are less likely to recover from the operation than non-smokers. However this is not the only issue.

Train of Thought *alllll aboard*

well, to start with I shall bring up a topic close to everyone who goes to ANU's hearts - webCT - that WONDERFUL invention invented by god knows who (if anyone finds out - email me and we will track them down) that just manages to waste more and more of my valuable 'study' time... It just makes me wanna smash my computer into my pristine green walls.

Iraq Bullshit

Iraqi troops mass to protect Baghdad

AP - Deafening explosions rocked central Baghdad as Iraqi troops, members of President Saddam Hussein's Fedayeen militia and teenage soldiers patrolled streets to protect the capital from US-led forces.

US forces penetrated the city for the first time, but quickly moved out and headed toward the airport on Baghdad's western edge, US Central Command officials said.

The weapon of mass seduction

Sedam Heusieun a ruler or just giant stupid dick waiting to blow his load???

Dam it people, Why must you all protest against the war when infact Sedam is just a stupid idiot who won't fully disarm his military and dispose of his weaponary.

Why don't you all start protesting against iraq not disarming? The point of the US going to war with iraq, is to ensure the safty of Ameria and their allies from an attack from iraq and their weapons of mass destruction.

Pissed of woman

I think it's time for a little rant. I was quite offended recently, when I went to a computer store to buy a new printer. You see, we've recently bought a new computer, with Windows XP, and I know that we sometimes have problems with old software. Well we tried installing the software for our HP690c, but of course the software was a bit old, and didn't install. XP does however have an automatic hardware installer, so I tried printing something. It refused to print in colour. We figured this was for one of two reasons.

realmtech.net hits 3000!

Some time in thelast 24 hours, realmtech.net had it's 3000th visitor. We're thinking of running a contest. There's two thoughts at the moment:

* 4000th visitor: take a screen shot and send it to us and win a prize.

or
* Best article: Run over the period of a month, the user who submits the best article wins a prize.
Havn't yet decided how this woud be judged, there's a couple of thoughts at the moment:
- Hand rated
- User rated (similar to the quotes rating system), or
- Total Number of visits

Mint supports Money Laundering

The Royal Australian Mint, in an attempt to promote the use of our rarely-used $100 notes, has started selling $100 notes online, accepting credit cards.

Instantly, this has opened up a method for money laundering and cash advances on credit. Fortunately (or unfortunately?) there's 99-item limit on purchases. I'm surprised another government department hasn't chirped up about the possible "terrorist" uses of this.

Phone Fun

That's right kiddies no longer do you need to wait till your 18 before you can get yourself a pleasure device. Just go and beg you parents for a mobile phone, to give a whole new meaning to the words 'phone sex'. I mean the phone companies around here should really be ashamed of themselves.... do you really think that the vibrating option is for discreet phone use? No I'm sorry, I don't buy it!
