Okay, all the articles before this are remenants of the old re-do of realmtech.net (v2.3). All articles from this one on are for/from the "new" realmtech.net v2.4.
(Thats right, the Submit Article doesnt work yet). In fact, many sections don't work yet, such as Journals (although there are some journals in the database).
I've redone the entire forums section. There's now the ability to have multiple forums (for now, only General and Technical have been created).
Sympton: DivX 5.2 movies show green video after playing for a couple of seconds
Problem: DivX 5.2 has problems with some hardware MPEG decoders.
Solution:
1. Uninstall *all* DivX's you have installed. In your start menu, if you haven't deleted it, click Uninstall in the DivX menus. There may be a couple (e.g. 5.0.2 and 4.0).
2. Uninstall any XviD codecs you've installed. (You'll be able to watch XviD encoded movies, see below).
3. Uninstall the Nimo codec pack. This seems to be the major cause of problems with playback of DivX movies.
After recently installing Windows XP (yes, I caved in), I've been looking for a suitable theme to replace the default 'Luna' theme.
The default 'Luna' theme has come under much scrutiny. "It looks like a Pizza Hut placemat", etc etc. However, when compared to many of the themes out there, it comes out looking quite good.
Sometimes it makes me wonder if these Interface/Skin creators actually use their own themes? Some of them have flaws which jump out to me like a big red nose.
The 'Luna' theme is actually usable -- a feature other themes lack.
Ah, I have decieved you all again. This is not a whinge about speed cameras, induced by me being nicked by one :P Read on and you'll find out the reason for the title.
I've realised that I haven't written a journal post in a while, and seeing as no-one else writes here, I felt the need to write something.
Anyways, what've I been doing recently? Last week I bought a laptop. It's a Toshiba Libretto L3. Everyone thinks it's just an oversized organiser because it's so small :) It's not the fastest laptop you can get, but I got it cuz it's just so cute! :)
