Cashing in on FREE

FreeLunch

It seems nowadays, everyone is trying to cash in on the word "free".

Tempting potential customers to their websites with the word "FREE" splashed everywhere, requiring only a "small" credit-card payment, or some other catch.

In the search for a SSL cert for realmtech (so all you guys can browse it in complete and encrypted privacy), I came across a site called "FreeSSL.com". Their primary product? "FreeSSL". What's the catch? It costs $35.

Doesn't it seem a little... contradictory.. to the name of the product?

Yet another example sits on our supermarket shelves. Kraft "Free" Salad Dressing. Again, cashing in on the "free", because their product is 97% fat FREE. Naturally, the product's largest and most prominent word is "free". Now, is the product free? or is it 100% fat free? One is left to read the back label for this information.
